The Black Information Network was once again on the ground at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference, held September 16–20, 2026, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

This year marked the 55th Annual Legislative Conference and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 50th anniversary, celebrating five decades of leadership, service and progress. The theme of this year’s conference, "Rooted, Ready & Rising," honored the legacy that has shaped CBCF while looking ahead to the work still to come.

As the nation's leading public policy gathering focused on issues impacting Black Americans and the global Black community, ALC brought together thousands of lawmakers, thought leaders, advocates, professionals, students and changemakers for five days of conversations, networking and action.

The 2026 conference featured more than 100 public policy forums addressing some of the most pressing issues facing Black communities, along with signature events including the National Town Hall, Day of Healing Prayer Breakfast, Gospel Extravaganza, Black Party and Phoenix Awards Dinner.

Throughout ALC 2026, the Black Information Network sat down with lawmakers, advocates, experts and changemakers from across the conference for conversations about the issues shaping Black communities — from health care and Black maternal health to gun violence, voting rights, homeownership, economic opportunity, national security and more.
