A man has been arrested after a seven-year-old boy was allegedly abducted at gunpoint and later found safe, per PEOPLE.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, 7-year-old Jamal White was "taken at gunpoint" outside of his residence on Friday (July 11) at around 7 p.m.
White was found safe on Saturday (July 11), a day after Milwaukee police issued an Amber Alert for the boy.
"Jamal has been located and is safe,” the MPD said in a statement. "The Milwaukee Police Department would like to thank everyone for their assistance in this matter."
According to the Amber Alert, White, who is also known as "Baby J," was taken in a white Jeep Renegade SUV with an unknown license plate by a Black male suspect. A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with White's disappearance. Criminal charges are being referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office.
White's grandmother, Cherica Morrise, confirmed that Baby J was found safely in a post on Facebook.
"Baby J has been found and he's okay! One person has been arrested. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!" she wrote.
White’s cousin, Nikki Harrington, said the 7-year-old was taken to the hospital to be examined following the alleged abduction. No other details about the incident have been released by police.
